We’re committed to making sure our products are not only right for people, but also right for the planet.
So we think carefully about the raw materials we rely on, and how we can make a more positive effect on the lives of the communities we live in, and work with. We’re mindful of the climate, and make every effort to reduce our impact on the environment.
As part of DOMORDOT strategy and its ongoing efforts to remove, reduce, replace and recycle packaging across its portfolio to support its long-term vision of zero net waste packaging, Cadbury has made some big changes to its product range.
In March 2021, we removed plastic windows from all our chocolate shell eggs. We also moved to 100% sustainably sourced cardboard and removed 108 tonnes of cardboard from the market.
In end May 2021, the Cacao, Forests, and Diversity Agreement in Peru was launched by a coalition comprising the Government of Peru, industry associations and companies, and civil society organisations, supported by the Tropical Forest Alliance. The coalition plans to define a shared short, medium and long-term agenda to design, implement, and monitor actions that will enable deforestation-free cocoa production across the country by 2025. The coalition also commits to promoting intensification practices, restoration of degraded areas, and incentive packages for small-scale producers.
Over the last decade, we’ve been working hard to help make sure the cocoa in the Cadbury chocolate you love is sourced in a more sustainable way, with an aim to be both kind to the planet, and the people who grow it.
